Nurses Banned to Wear Scarf in Jinnah Hospital

Nurses students have asserted their power and due to their
stand, the callous administration of Jinnah Hospital and hostels are under fire
and exposed to the public. News about bad attitude towards
the female nursing staff at the Jinnah hospital were circulating for
quite a time but the volcano erupted as one male doctor
pulled down veil of one female nurse and ordered her to not to wear it again in
front of him.
 
Such complaints are rampant in the
Jinnah hostels and both male doctors and male nurses don’t
leave any chance to harass and tease the female nursing staff. Even they have 
access to their hostels and with the help of
guards they often come into the corridors of the hostels. As the nursing girls
of Karachi Jinnah Hospital started their vehement protests against this
high-handedness, the administration tried to hush the matter
and kept the girls imprisoned in the hostel by force for two hours with
the help of guards.
 
Hostel girls of Karachi hospital have also complained that the
male doctors don’t accept male nurses with them and only
work when the female nurse of their choice is given to them and these
doctor often fight among themselves for the attractive young nurses. Now as the
things have turned more bad and administration banned the
scarf, all the nursing staff is out in protest.
 



These so called Muslims are worse than the kuffar public. They
should get a beating of their lives to get them in
line.

A study conducted by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has cast doubt over 
Israel's survival beyond the next 20 years. 

The CIA report predicts "an inexorable movement away from a two-state to a 
one-state solution, as the most viable model based on democratic principles of 
full equality that sheds the looming specter of colonial Apartheid while 
allowing for the return of the 1947/1948 and 1967 refugees. The latter being 
the precondition for sustainable peace in the region."

The study, which has been made available only to a certain number of 
individuals, further forecasts the return of all Palestinian refugees to the 
occupied territories, and the exodus of two million Israeli - who would move to 
the US in the next fifteen years.

"There is over 500,000 Israelis with American passports and more than 300,000 
living in the area of just California," International lawyer Franklin Lamb said 
in an interview with Press TV on Friday, adding that those who do not have 
American or western passport, have already applied for them.

"So I think the handwriting at least among the public in Israel is on the 
wall.[which] suggests history will reject the colonial enterprise sooner or 
later," Lamb stressed.

He said CIA, in its report, alludes to the unexpectedly quick fall of the 
apartheid government in South Africa and recalls the disintegration of the 
Soviet Union in the early 1990s, suggesting the end to the dream of an 'Israeli 
land' would happen 'way sooner' than later.

The study further predicts the return of over one and a half million Israelis 
to Russia and other parts of Europe, and denotes a decline in Israeli births 
whereas a rise in the Palestinian population. 

Lamb said given the Israeli conduct toward the Palestinians and the Gaza strip 
in particular, the American public -- which has been voicing its protest 
against Tel Aviv's measures in the last 25 years -- may 'not take it anymore'. 

Some members of the US Senate Intelligence Committee have been informed of the 
report.

for illnesses like MS (multiple sclerosis) or Parkinson's, but with all
the stem cell research, I am not sure whether it is halal to raise money
for such research. (1) Is there any treatment which would not be halal?
If pig enzymes are used in a medicine does that make it haram? (2) If
the (potential) treatment would not be halal, should we promote and
support it by raising money for it? i.e., would it be haram to
contribute or raise money to support the research? (3) Can we
participate in a walk-a-thon to raise money or should we donate through
Muslim organizations? Jazakum Allah khayran.

Dear questioner, we would like to thank you for the great confidence you
place in us, and we implore Allah Almighty to help us serve His cause
and render our work for His Sake.

Raising funds for stem cell research can't be judged with either
permissibility or prohibition unless one is aware of the whole idea of
the stem cell research itself. Muslim scholars state that conducting
fundraising for this kind of research is allowed only if the research
will apply the rules of the Shari`ah and will not be abused.

In this regard, Dr. Muzammil Siddiqi, President of the Fiqh Council
ofNorth America, states:



Let us first understand what is this research and what are the issues
involved in it. Following is a brief explanation written by my son Dr.
Imran Siddiqi, a Ph.D. in Genetics. He says:

"The human body consists of many kinds of cells. These cells are very
diverse in their structure and function. For example, neurons that make
up the brain are very different from cells that make up our liver; cells
that allow our heart to pump blood look nothing like the cells that make
up our skin. In spite of their vast differences, however, all cells in
the human body contain the same DNA, which provides the information, in
the form of genes necessary to make all these various cell type.

Put simply, liver cells have their distinctive factors in the sense that
only a small set of genes are turned on in these cells while the rest
are shut off. In the same way, cells in the brain or skin have their own
set of genes activated, and other sets turned off. However, because all
cells contain the entire set of DNA, they possess the information needed
to make any kind of cell, though most of this information is not being
used.

How do cells become specialized to form the different organs in the
body? Human development begins when a sperm cell fuses with an egg cell.
This initial fertilized egg, although it is only a single cell, is able
to form an entire human being. This cell starts to divide into
additional cells, which at this early stage are all able to produce a
complete organism. These cells are therefore called totipotent, meaning
they have total potential to produce all cell types present in a living
human. As development proceeds and an embryo forms, these cells become
pluripotent, meaning they have potential to give rise to many different
kinds of cells but can no longer produce a complete embryo. Later in
development, through a process called cell differentiation, these
pluripotent cells eventually give rise to the different and more
specialized kinds of cells in the body and the different organs begin to
form.

What are stem cells? Stem cells are cells that have not gone through the
process of cell differentiation and therefore have the potential to give
rise to many different kinds of specialized cells. For instance a stem
cell could be used to produce liver cells, brain cells, heart muscle
cells, blood cells, etc. The current sources of stem cells include
embryos (which, as explained above, consist of pluripotent cells) and
fetal tissue. In addition, some recent evidence suggests that even
adults have a small number of multi-potent cells that can be isolated
and can later differentiate into various cell types.

One source of stem cells is from embryos that were formed from a process
called in vitro fertilization. This is a technique that has been used by
doctors for some time, where eggs are removed from a woman after
stimulation of the ovaries, and the isolated eggs are then fertilized by
sperm cells in the laboratory. The fertilized eggs are allowed to divide
for a few cycles and are then implanted into the woman's uterus, where a
normal pregnancy can then take place. The purpose of this technique is
to allow couples who cannot normally have children to be able to
reproduce. The technique is not that efficient, however, and so doctors
usually produce several embryos, hoping that at least one will be able
to implant correctly in the uterus and start growing. The remaining
embryos are either frozen for later use or are destroyed. Recently,

Building on bold-faced lies

Leaked Israeli settlement expansion plans prove that interminable peace
talks are but cover for the material destruction of Palestinian
horizons, writes Khaled Amayreh in occupied East Jerusalem

While Israel never stops claiming that it has a sincere desire for peace
with the Palestinians, the Israeli Housing Ministry, in coordination
with other government agencies as well as the occupation army, is
finalising plans to build tens of thousands of Jewish settler units all
over the West Bank, especially in occupied East Jerusalem.
The plans, it is generally agreed, would put an end to Palestinian
dreams of establishing a viable and territorially contiguous state that
they could call their own. According to a detailed document by the
Israeli Peace Now group, which monitors the proliferation of Jewish
colonies in the West Bank, the Housing Ministry is planning to build
more than 73,000 new apartments and settler units on occupied
Palestinian land.
If implemented, the plan means that existing settlements would more than
double, both in the sheer number of apartments and in terms of the
settler population. That population now stands at more than half a
million in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. However, one major obstacle
that could impede the implementation of the plan is the growing dearth
of Jewish immigrants from abroad.
In 2008, less than 18,000 immigrants arrived in Israel. This is a mere
trickle compared to the hundreds of thousands who arrived in the late
1980s and early 1990s following the collapse of the former Soviet Union.
Nonetheless, the Israeli government hopes to be able to tackle this
problem, at least partially, by giving "generous inducements" to
potential settlers that would woo Israeli Jewish citizens to move onto
the West Bank. These inducements include hefty tax reductions,
preferential treatment with regards to income tax, and long-term loans.
Predictably, the Peace Now revelations drew furious reactions from
Palestinian leaders who labelled the plan "peace killer". "If this is
true, then it will be futile to even think about peace, let alone the
continued relevance of the two- state solution," said Palestinian
Authority (PA) official Saeb Erekat.
"I believe that if the international community is sincere about peace in
this part of the world then it must force Israel to stop stealing
Palestinian land. As far as we are concerned, we can't allow this
incessant theft of our land to go on and on under the rubric of a
disingenuous process that has a form but has no substance," he added.
Erekat said the PA would be closely watching how the Obama
administration deals with the issue of settlements. The Palestinian
official tacitly admitted that the Bush administration's approach
towards the "settlement issue" was scandalous, adding that the next
Israeli government, led by Benyamin Netanyahu, would have to accept the
principle of land-for-peace or otherwise there will be no peace process
left.
Embarrassed by the leaking of the plan, which was applauded by members
of the religious and right-wing parties, Israeli government reactions
ranged from silence to half-hearted denials. Israeli Housing Minister
Zeev Boim, a former deputy defence minister and a notorious hawk
advocating an accelerated pace of settlement expansion, described the
Peace Now document as "baseless and inaccurate". 
However, Boim did admit that at least 11,000 settler units were approved
for construction in 2009 and that hundreds of other tenders had been
issued for construction in colonies in the central and northern parts of
the West Bank. He also indicated that more tenders might have been
issued by other government agencies.
Boim's defences were flatly rejected both by Peace Now and Palestinian
experts on Jewish settlement activities as "sly and dishonest
manipulation of statistics". Abdel-Hadi Hantash, a veteran cartographer
and noted expert on Jewish settlement expansion, described Boim's
pronouncements as "prevarications and outright lies". "These people are
pathological liars. They claim they want peace, but everything they do
on the ground shows beyond any doubt that true peace is the last thing
on their minds," he told Al-Ahram Weekly.
Hantash said Israel was following a master plan the implementation of
which would render the creation of a Palestinian state impossible.
"We have to differentiate between official Israeli pronouncements on the
one hand, and activities on the ground, on the other. In terms of
activities on the ground, it is manifestly obvious that Israel is
building new settlements and expanding existing ones, and in both cases
more Palestinian land is confiscated, or more correctly, stolen," he
said.

Dubai Central Jail inmates learn how to repair vehicles

Dubai: Inmates at Dubai Central jail learn how to repair vehicles as part of 
the jail's rehabilitation programme, a senior police official said. 

Brigadier Khamis Saeed Al Suwaidi, Acting Director of Dubai Police's Punitive 
and Correctional Establishments, said the department is keen on rehabilitation 
programmes that will help inmates after they are freed. 

He said the education and training department at the jail organised the 
vocational course in cooperation with the Al Futtaim training centre. The 
course targeted 14 UAE national inmates. All passed the course and six were 
released from jail. 

The inmates have secured jobs as helpers at Al Futtaim as soon as they had 
taken the course and received the certificates. 

Lieutenant Colonel Tariq Kalentar, Director of Dubai Central Jail, said many 
inmates showed interest in taking the course. However, the 14 were selected 
based on interviews, their behaviour and their English language proficiency.

He said the course was taught by instructors from Al Futtaim Training Centre 
for two-and-a-half months. The participants received theoretical and practical 
lessons for five hours, four days in a week.

*Introduction to the Shaykh*

Our Noble Shaykh حفظه الله is a member of Council of Senior Scholars, and a
member of the Permanent Council for Fataawa and Research.


*Transcription of the Translation of the Lecture*

The Shaykh حفظه الله تعالى began by praising Allaah سبحانه وتعالى the Lord
of everything that exists and its Sustainer, and by sending peace and
blessings, salutations upon the Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم and upon his
Companions and his family.

To proceed:
The topic for tonight is dealing with الرفق (*ar-Rifq*) or gentleness and
softness while giving da’wah, and warning from extremism and being harsh.

The Shaykh حفظه الله went on to say that *ar-Rifq*, which we are going to
translate as ‘*being gentle*’, is to be soft in your speech and your
actions, and to do that which is easier, and it is the opposite of
harshness, or being hard. *Ar-Rifq* or gentleness, is *praiseworthy* and
that which opposes it is being harsh, and being harsh is the result of
anger. So being soft and gentle is also the result of *good character*. And
it possible that the reason for the حدة (*Hiddah*) that one has (being
sharp, being harsh, and being angry) could be that he is not thinking
properly, and it prevents him from التثبت (*at-tathabbut*) or being firm in
his affair.

Then the Shaykh حفظه الله said again, that being gentle is الثمر (*
ath-thamara*), it is a fruit that comes from good character, and good
character does not come to one unless he is able to control his anger, and
control his emotions, and his harshness. For this reason, the Prophet صلى
الله عليه وسلم praised gentleness, and likewise Sufyaan ath-Thawri رحمه الله
تعالى said to some of his companions, *“Do you know what wisdom is? Wisdom
is to put everything in its proper place – to put harshness in its proper
place, to put gentleness in its proper place, to put the sword in its proper
place, and to put the stick in its proper place.” *

So, the Shaykh حفظه الله says here, that this is an indication to us that
the *praiseworthy* thing is to *be in the middle* – to be in-between being
very strict and hard, and being very gentle and very lenient, as it relates
to all of the other characteristics. However, due to the fact that the human
nature leans more towards harshness, and more towards being strong and hard,
the necessity of encouraging the people to be gentle, is more so, and for
this reason you find this plentiful in the Speech of Allaah سبحانه وتعالى
and His Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم. The Shaykh حفظه الله said that after
we translate this (which has just been done) he is going to bring the
evidence that deals with this from the Qur’aan and the Sunnah.


*Evidence from the Qur’aan for Being Gentle and Lenient when Calling to
Allaah*

The Shaykh حفظه الله went on to say that from the evidences that indicate
the importance of gentleness, from the Qur’aan is the statement of Allaah
سبحانه وتعالى where He says:

فَبِمَا رَحْمَةٍ مِّنَ اللّهِ لِنتَ لَهُمْ وَلَوْ كُنتَ فَظًّا غَلِيظَ
الْقَلْبِ لاَنفَضُّواْ مِنْ حَوْلِكَ فَاعْفُ عَنْهُمْ وَاسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ
وَشَاوِرْهُمْ فِي الأَمْرِ فَإِذَا عَزَمْتَ فَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللّهِ إِنَّ
اللّهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُتَوَكِّلِينَ

* {And by the Mercy of Allaah, you dealt with them gently. And had you been
severe and harsh-hearted,
they would have broken away from about you; so pass over (their faults), and
ask (Allaah's) Forgiveness for them; and consult them in the affairs.
Then when you have taken a decision, put your trust in Allaah, certainly,
Allaah loves those who put their trust (in Him).}
*[Aali Imraan 3:159]
In this aayah we find clarification of the way that the Prophet صلى الله
عليه وسلم used to interact with his Companions, and in it is a clarification
that Allaah سبحانه وتعالى placed رحمة (*Rahmah*) or *mercy* in the heart of
the Messengerصلى الله عليه وسلم . As a result of this *rahmah*, there was *
lenience* from the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم and this was from the
beautiful way that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم used to interact with his
Companions. Allaah سبحانه وتعالىinformed him that *if he had dealt with them
in a harsh way*, in a manner that was opposite or opposed to being merciful
to them, then *they would have run away* from him. Even though there may be
some things that came from the Companions that would make the Prophet صلى
الله عليه وسلم displeased, or that which they may be criticized for, Allaah
سبحانه وتعالى commands His Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم to deal with them in
the following three ways:

1. The first thing is that he pardons them, العفو (*al-`Afoo*) is that he
pardons them.
2. Secondly, that he seeks forgiveness for them.
3. And thirdly that he consult them in the affairs that it is possible that
he consult them in.


So if he did these three things, then he has done that whi

  Nurses students have asserted their power and due to their stand, the callous 
administration of Jinnah Hospital and hostels are under fire and exposed to the 
public. News about bad attitude towards the female nursing staff at the Jinnah 
hospital were circulating for quite a time but the volcano erupted as one male 
doctor pulled down veil of one female nurse and ordered her to not to wear it 
again in front of him.

  Such complaints are rampant in the Jinnah hostels and both male doctors and 
male nurses don't leave any chance to harass and tease the female nursing 
staff. Even they have access to their hostels and with the help of guards they 
often come into the corridors of the hostels. As the nursing girls of Karachi 
Jinnah Hospital started their vehement protests against this high-handedness, 
the administration tried to hush the matter and kept the girls imprisoned in 
the hostel by force for two hours with the help of guards.

  Hostel girls of Karachi hospital have also complained that the male doctors 
don't accept male nurses with them and only work when the female nurse of their 
choice is given to them and these doctor often fight among themselves for the 
attractive young nurses. Now as the things have turned more bad and 
administration banned the scarf, all the nursing staff is out in protest.
