A THOUGHT
THE SERVANT’S EXTREME NEED FOR GUIDANCE
---
The servant is in need of guidance, 3 at every moment and in every breath, in
everything that happens to him and passes him by, for he is in the midst of
many matters from which he cannot separate himself:
(i) Matters in which he found himself because of ignorance, rather than
guidance, so he is in need of seeking guidance to the truth with respect to
these.
(ii) Matters in which he knows the guidance, but did not act upon it in the
proper manner, so he is in need of repenting from them.
(iii) There are matters concerning which he did not know the aspect of guidance
in them, neither in terms of knowledge nor action.

One day we are all are going to depart on a journey. The trip will be
free of charge. Your Savings are of no use, don't worry about the Seat
reservation, its confirmed and the flight is always on time, luggage
will be unlimited not 20kgs, your good deeds no matter how heavy, they
are all complimentary excess baggage, ISLAM will be your passport,
KALIMA will be your visa, QABAR will be your waiting lounge. The rest

As Salaamu Alaikum
Choose FeelingsIf your days seem filled with unwanted negative feelings, there
is only one cure. When they come, choose them. Don't ask why, don't wonder how,
don't fight them and never put yourself down for having them. But most of all
never blame someone else for how you feel. If you do, it means you are still
fast asleep and your choice is to be a victim. When the feelings come, even big
disturbing emotional feelings say, I choose this feeling and know it comes
because of something you have thought or done in the past, perhaps a certain
belief that you have learned or an attachment that is threatened. Choice does
not mean you want the feelings, but it does mean you are taking responsibility
for them. And that is the beginning of self mastery. It is the first step to
the healing and resolving of your emotions. But only the first step. Try this
today and then ask yourself what the next step might be. If you are really
interested to know, you will come to know!

Four things increase wisdom-to give up useless talk, to cleanse the teeth, to
keep company with the learned and the pious men.
Four things appertain to divine service-to take steps with ablution, to prolong
prostration, to keep attached to the Masjid and to recite the Quran much.

Look InwardsWe all have three eyes. Two for looking out and one for looking in.
Why would we want to look in when everything is happening 'out there'? Because
the treasure we seek is inside, not outside. What is treasure? Beauty, truth,
peace, happiness. You already have what you seek. You already are stunningly
beautiful. You are already peaceful and loving. How come you don't know this?
Simple, you never look inwards, beyond superficial memories or recent
experiences, so you never see your own riches. Take a moment to stop, look in
and see. Don't rush. Don't search. Just look. And be aware

As Salaamu Alaikum
Goodness When I become excessively critical towards others, it means I am going
in the wrong direction. We are usually very good at spotting mistakes, but we
should develop the quality of also spotting goodness. If I can see what is good
in others or in situations and go beyond the curtain of negativity, I feel good
about myself. If I constantly think he is wrong, I instead create a barrier
which blocks me from reaching my own goodness.

A Benevolent attitude when you extend pure love to everyone with selfless
motivation that is an attitude of kindness. When you send good wishes and pure
feelings to those who are in deep sorrow, that is an attitude of mercy. When
you see the virtues rather than the weaknesses in people that is an attitude of
compassion. When you bless and uplift someone even as they defame you, that is
an attitude of forgiveness. When you tolerate a situation and take
responsibility as well as give cooperation even when not appreciated, that is
an attitude of humility and self-respect. Every second, every moment and every
breath of your life is nurtured by attitude.

Staying peaceful desires cause peace to disappear. You think that acquiring
things will make you feel secure, but the reality is that the more you have the
more fear there usually is of losing it, and the further you are from peace.
Desires are the cause of all conflicts. When you want something and cannot get
it you become frustrated. Learning to be free from desires is learning how to
stay peaceful.

love love is a powerful force. It can take us to great heights and leave us
feeling light and airy. Yet it has been the most abused and misused force. Many
degraded things pass for love. True love is based on understanding, mutual
trust and respect and not simply on transient emotions. Love is being in
balance, that is, in harmony with the self, God and each other. Love dwells in
the soul. We must allow this love to flow out and around us. Without love, all
of life's treasures are locked away from our vision and experiences, for indeed
'love is the key.'

A THOUGHT
OUR EARS THAT HEAR WITHOUT ANY CRACKLE

Allah has created our ears perfectly just like our eyes. Imagine a stereo, for
instance. Even if you turn on the best of stereos, you hear some crackling and
hissing sounds. Radio channels often become mixed up. Right now, don’t talk but
just listen! Do you hear any hissing? Your ears never produce any. You hear the
sounds marvellously clearly. Well don’t you think that your ears could also
have produced crackling just like stereos? Allah has created our ears perfectly
and we are able to hear the sounds around us without experiencing any
distortion.
Allah has created our ears in such a way that we are unable to hear certain
sounds that would disturb us. The blood in our body, for instance, flows very
fast and it makes a lot of noise during its circulation. However, our ears do
not hear the noise that it makes. Our planet also produces quite a strong noise
while it spins. Nevertheless, Allah has created our ears so ideally that we
don't hear this noise. Allah is very caring towards us. This is the reason why,
throughout our lives, He doesn’t let us hear noises that will disturb us.
This is why we have to thank Allah for His benevolence.

Nobody is born learned. Learning is to be acquired. Ibn Abbas RA said: To
discuss about learning in a portion of night is dearer to me than to keep up
awake throughout the night in prayer.
Allah advised us to pray thus: 0 Lord, give us good in this world and good in
the hereafter - 2: 297. In explaining 'good' in this verse, Hasan Basari RA
said that it means Knowledge so far as this world is concerned and Paradise so
far as the hereafter is concerned.

SEEK A CURE
O man of double vision, hearken with attention:
Seek a cure for your defective sight by listening. Many are the holy words that
find no entrance into blind hearts, but they enter hearts full of light. But
the deceits of Satan enter crooked hearts, even as crooked shoes fit crooked
feet. Though you repeat pious expressions again and again, if you are a fool,
they affect you not at all. Nay, not [even] though you set them down in
writing, and [even] though you proclaim them vauntingly. Wisdom averts its face
from you, O man of sin, wisdom breaks away from you and takes to flight!

happiness it is the art of living, the purpose of our existence. Happiness is
the true index of quality of life. Without happiness, life is dry and
meaningless. With happiness, life immediately becomes fulfilling and wonderful.

PLEASURES SEEM SWEET
Just so the pleasures of the world seem sweet till they are tried, and then
they are found to be very bitter and repulsive. The Prophet Sallahu Alyhi Wa
Sallam has declared that Patience is the key of joy. in other words, that he
who controls and restrains himself from grasping at worldly pleasures will find
true happiness. But this precept makes no lasting impression on the bulk of
humankind. When bitter experience overtakes them, as the pain of burning
afflicts children, or moths sporting with fire, or the pain of amputation [of
a] a thief, they curse the delusive temptations which brought this pain upon
them. But no sooner is the pain abated, then they run after the same pleasures
as eagerly as ever.
This leads the poet again to dwell on his favourite theme of the sole agency
of Allah.
Then, to supply the necessary corrective of this doctrine, another anecdote is
told concerning Mahmud and Ayaz. The courtiers grumbled because Ayaz received
the stipend of thirty courtiers, and Mahmud, by a practical test, convinced
them that the talents of Ayaz equalled those of thirty men. The courtiers
replied that this was due to Allah's grace, not to any merit on the part of
Ayaz. And the king confuted them by pointing out that man's responsibility and
merit, or demerit, for his actions are recognized in the Quran. Iblis was
condemned for saying to Allah, Thou hast caused me to err, and Adam was
commended or saying, We have blackened ourselves. And elsewhere it is said,
Whosoever shall have wrought an atom's weight of good shall behold it. And
whoso[ever] shall have wrought an atom's weight of evil shall behold it.

ALONE ON JUDGMENT DAY

Thou hast no one in the whole world; why dost thou not weep bitterly over
thyself? For if thou have a hundred friends in thy house, when thou diest, thou

This grief is not given thee easily; straw will not give the strength of a
mountain. If thou wouldst have even an atom of this grief, thou must have the
purity of the sea and the endurance of the mountains.
If thou die a moment before thy appointed time, in that one moment thou shalt
conquer a whole world. Forsaken and forlorn as thou art, if thou but knewest

A THOUGHT
THE WORLD OF LOVE
-
The world of love has neither beginning nor end; there is no guide to it save
a bleeding heart. He is a lover who from the first step he takes, immerses
himself from head to foot in blood becoming like so much mud.
0 Lord, I have said many foolish things; I have said much that was true and
much that was not. Though the sinner commit a hundred worlds of sins, yet one
atom of Thy grace will efface them all.
We have nothing but sins to offer, no acts of devotion. What can we bring to
counterbalance our sins? Only a small handful of things.
Since such is our case, 0 Lord, do not abandon us to ourselves. Thou transcends
the categories of quantity, quality, and cause; Thou art beyond and outside of
the world.
0 Lord, Thy mercy is a universal sea; a single drop of it would suffice for us.
If Thou were to wash the pollution of Thy sinful creatures in that sea, The
water would not be darkened for a moment but the case of a whole world of
people would be brighter.
What loss would that sea of mercy suffer if Thou gavest one drop of water to
Thy creatures?

BECOME A DAA'EE (GUIDE)

Guiding people, teaching them and advising them opens up a door of guidance
for an individual - since the reward for an action is its like - every time he
guides someone and teaches him, then Allah will (further) guide him and teach
him.
Therefore, he will become a guide and guided, as occurs in the supplication of
the Messenger of Allah, which has been reported by at-Tirmidhee and others:
O Allah, beautify us with the adornment of eemaan, make us guides (for
others), guided, not astray, leading others astray, peaceful to Your close
friends (awliyaa), warring with Your enemies. With Your love do we love those
who love You and with Your enmity do we show enmity to those who oppose You.

A THOUGHT
THE ATMOSPHERE
--
Do you know that every day many meteors fall on earth? When meteors fall on
other planets, they create giant craters, but when they fall on earth, they
don't cause much harm.
So how do meteors cause great damage to the surfaces of other planets but not
to the surface of earth?
The reason for this is the atmosphere that surrounds earth. The atmosphere
encircles our planet as a protective shield. A meteor entering the atmosphere
shrinks through combustion. When it comes closer to the surface of earth, it
becomes even smaller. Therefore, the meteor becomes very small or even
diminishes and disappears completely by the time it reaches the surface of the
earth, and causes us no harm.
The atmosphere doesn't only prevent the harm of meteors but it also absorbs
harmful rays that come from the Sun. Yet again, if these harmful rays were able
to reach earth's surface, it would have been impossible for living things to
survive.
The two characteristics we have mentioned here are more than enough to show us
that the atmosphere is not some haphazard thing. Allah—Who has endless mercy
upon all living things on earth and Who at the same time has eternal power—has
created the atmosphere, and with this atmosphere, He protects us from danger.

As Salaamu Alaikum
One candle, by lighting another, does not lose part of its light. Yet we
guard our light as if it were a commodity that will run out if we share
it. We put a bucket over our light so that no one else can see it in
case they might want some of it. We think that that will make it last
longer; but it won't. Only in sharing our light will it burn brighter.
Try the concept of random acts of kindness. Stop at a toll gate and pay
the fee for the car behind you. They will probably race behind you for
miles trying to catch you and trying to figure out what it was that made
you pay their fee. Smile at people, stand up for pregnant ladies, and
carry parcels for old people, give abundantly to beggars, and smile at
children, stroke pets. Be nice to people, because only in giving do we
get back more. Share the light. Yours will burn brighter. INSHALLAH!

FORCES OF NATURE

And He hath made subject to you the sun and the moon, both diligently
pursuing their courses: and the Night and the Day hath He (also) made
subject to you. (Ibrahim (Abraham) - Chapter 14: Verse 33)
Some think that this verse means that the forces of nature have been
placed under the control of man. Such an assumption leads people to
develop a variety of odd ideas. Some even go so far as to say that to
achieve mastery over the heavens and the earth is the true end of man's
existence.
Almost all classical commentators agree that Allah's having made the
natural phenomena 'subservient' to man is a metaphor for His having
enabled man to derive lasting benefit from them. Allah has bound them to
laws which are beneficial for humankind. Had sailing in the sea not been
subject to any law, it would not have been possible for man to undertake
sea voyages. Had the rivers not been subject to any laws, man could not
have used them for irrigation. Likewise, had the sun, the moon, the day
and the night not been regulated, there could have been no life on
earth, let alone any flourishing human civilization. Ishraq Al-Ma'ani

created is called TAQDEER or FATE.
* All favours are by Allah's will alone and no misfortune can happen
except by the will of Allah.
* Therefore we should not despair over any misfortune or boast over any
favour. This teaches us that we should he thankful to Allah for his
favours and patient over any misfortune.

A THOUGHT
Been deceived?
People aren't perfect: we will make mistakes. Satan deceives us by
making us think that minor sins aren't important. So we might think,
What's the big deal if I tell a 'white lie'? The fact is, lies are
lies and sins are sins, and as the Prophet said, even minor sins, if a
person is called to account for them, will destroy him. [Ahmad]
So how do we repent for what we do wrong, whether minor or major?
Recognize what's wrong and stop doing it right away.
Hate the action and regret that we ever did it.
Be determined never to do the action again.
If someone's rights were violated by the action we should seek their
forgiveness and set things right.
While we may end up falling into the same trap again, we can always
repent and get back on the straight path. Only those people who give up
and continue to follow Satan are deceived and truly losers.

A THOUGHT
All grow in soil from seeds, and the seed has a structure sometimes as
hard as wood. However, while considering these, we should avoid habitual
ways of thinking and employ different methods. Visualise the delicious
tastes and odours of strawberries or the ever-changing odour of melon.
Think about the time and energy spent in laboratories to produce similar
odours and about the repeated trials that resulted in failure. Indeed,
results obtained by scientists in laboratories prove to be no better
than the unsuccessful imitations of their natural counterparts. The
varieties of taste, odour and colour in nature bear indeed matchless
attributes.

A human being has in each day 24,000 breaths - in and out. In every
in-and-out breath, there is an action, whether good or bad. Every breath
in is an act, and every breath out is an act. Whether you breathe in or
breathe out you expend effort, energy. So you are doing at least 24,000
acts every day. Think, then, whether these acts are like dead trees that

Transforming Adversity into Success
One of the most difficult questions of all to answer is: Why do bad
things happen to good people? There is a Chinese parable that says,
'life is likened to an intricate piece of embroidery. From the back, it
is a meaningless mass of tangled threads, with no apparent design.
But on the other side there's the perfect pattern of embroidery with not
a stitch out of place.'
So it is with life and its challenges. How often it is the things we
would count as heavy and Burdensome that in fact lift us up to reveal
how all things work together to ultimately create a flawless design.
The gem cannot be polished without friction and I cannot be perfected
without trials.

THE STORY
Going with the Flow
A story tells of an old man who accidentally fell into the river
rapids leading to a high and dangerous waterfall. Onlookers feared for
his life. Miraculously, he came out alive and unharmed downstream at
the bottom of the falls. People asked him how he managed to survive.
I accommodated myself to the water, not the water to me. Without
thinking, I allowed myself to be shaped by it. Plunging into the
swirl, I came out with the swirl. This is how I survived.
People's reactions to this story:
You have to accommodate yourself to life and get used to dealing with
your problems as they come. You must learn to cooperate.
We must adapt to nature. Nature cannot change for us. If you try to
fight the natural forces, they will overcome you. Because we are made
primarily of water, it is easy to become a part of it.
Because nature is so much more powerful than we are, we must become
one with it in order to survive.
Humans are not the almighty conquerors that they think they are. We
can learn a lot from nature. Nature is wonderful and does not intend
to harm. It is humans that are harmful.
Work with what life gives you and you will survive.
Put your life into Allah's hands and you will be OK.
Although you may not be able to control your destiny, you always have
the ability to think and reason about your situation. This will help
you come out on top.

A THOUGHT
THE WORD GOODBYE
A not so long word but long are its implications. The word goodbye
carries so much emotion. Attached to are the words of hope. Goodbye for
now, I'll see you again...
The word goodbye comes with sadness. A boundary to cut long-term
relationships. Makes you wonder what is good about that Goodbye.
Like there is a beginning, goodbye marks the end. Whether temporal or
permanent it brings separation between lovers, between enemies it does
the same. Goodbye the word that cut the moments.
No matter how sad it is to part with the ones you love. So much is a
parting when goodbye was never said. People tend to cling to the
moments. Until by goodbye a closure is found.
Never having a chance to say your goodbyes. Is like the one who dies
unexpectedly. Without a chance for his loved one to see him. It is a
painful, unfinished business.
