To: The Honorable Chief Minister of Kerala

The 139 accused in the marad case is jailed for more than four and half
years even without bail. They include patients with heart problems, brain
tumour, mental disorders, deaf and dumb and those with old age
disabilities. Police arrested and remanded even those who were attending
their prayers in the nearby Masjid.
Simultaneously those accused in the first marad case are moving around
freely without even a trial which blatantly violates the principle of
equality before law and the principle of considering an accused innocent
till he is sentenced. Also the case of Abdul Nasar Ma'adani, still could
not awake us on the illegal denial of bail and he had suffered long nine
years in Coimbatore jail without bail before being acquitted after trail.
Remember, granting of bail is part of justice and justice delayed is
justice denied.
Hence we appeal to you all, to join us to raise this serious issue of
denial of human rightsl to those accused in Marad case and to grant them
bail immediately and thus upholding the great principle of considering the
accused as innocent, till sentenced.
Sincerely,
