Josh Elser created CALCITE-1923:
-----------------------------------

             Summary: Investigate HTTP connection caching with SPNEGO auth
                 Key: CALCITE-1923
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CALCITE-1923
             Project: Calcite
          Issue Type: Task
          Components: avatica
            Reporter: Josh Elser
            Assignee: Josh Elser
            Priority: Minor

In the course of CALCITE-1922, I was doing a bunch of inspect of the raw HTTP
requests using tcpdump

{noformat}
tcpdump -vv port 8765 and '(tcp-syn|tcp-ack)!=0' -A
{noformat}

The strange thing is that for every request, the client appeared to be going
through the handshake each time (making two requests for every one). This seems
really bad to me and I'd expect to only see one made for the 2nd-nth request.
Maybe we're doing something wrong with authentication caching.
