At present the preparationGoals run before the tag is created.
It would be nice to have a means of doing additional stuff after the tag has
been created and before the next-version-SNAPSHOT pom is checked back into the
trunk (or branch that you were releasing from)
Could then be used to have versions-maven-plugin resolve the ranges for the
release and restore them to ranges for development.
