Daniel Chaffelson created NIFI-4230:
---------------------------------------

Summary: Use a better default location when pasting via keystokes
outside the context of the originally selected components
                 Key: NIFI-4230
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NIFI-4230
             Project: Apache NiFi
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: Core UI
    Affects Versions: 1.3.0
            Reporter: Daniel Chaffelson
            Priority: Minor

When copy/pasting components between different Process Groups, the keystroke
behavior differs from the right-click behavior. Specifically, it does not paste
the components on the current focus area of the canvas, but appears to paste
them relative to their original position in the original context, which
effectively puts them somewhere random on the focus canvas, requiring the user
to hunt them down.

It would be optimal to select a better default location somewhere in the focus
area of the canvas for all paste behaviors consistently.
