It does not make sense to maintain a partial implementation especially for something that is meant as a reference implementation anyway. The c2 api allows others to build from and if a group becomes well motivated can have a fully maintained implementation here as well but this current model this doesn't tie fully into the ci/cd/build processes does not add value.
