AOO can always assume that the dwMajorVersion is >=5 (i.e. >WME and >=W2K).
This fact allows the simplification or removal of many platform specific code
paths. Removing these old and nowadays unused code paths will also eliminate
the compilation of some deprecated SDK methods.
