The file I am editing when this issue happens

This has happened to me twice in a row.

I have three Open Office Writer (OOW) windows open.  One window is my main
document.  The second window is notes I have made to assist me in writing the
main document.  The third window is a list of my references for the main
document.

I currently have 4 PNG type files inserted in my main document.  After
reviewing my document, I decided that one of those images needed to appear
earlier in the document.

I click the offending image, right click, select "cut".

As soon as I do this, all three documents immediately close and the document
recovery window appears.

If I can do this, I will attach my main document to assist in the bug hunt.

The offending image is labeled "Illustration 3"

That is a problem with your template, not with AOO. I just created a new
spreadsheet template saved it and set as default following the instructions in
the help. It sounds like you just took an existing spreadsheet and set it as
default without changing the font in all the cells.

This is a bug tracker not a help desk. Please address your question to either
of the support venues mentioned in Comment 1.
