I just downloaded and installed Spark 1.3.

Inside README.md there is this example

And run the following command, which should also return 1000:
    >>> sc.parallelize(range(1000)).count()
{code}

which does not compile

<console>:22: error: not found: value range
{code}

This example does work

  sc.parallelize(1 to 1000).count()
{code}

I'd be happy to create a pull request if necessary.
