Fwiw, I'd rather stick with {{/bin/sh}} instead of {{/bin/bash}} which is not 
available by default on FreeBSD.

I've tested on OSX and it works correctly...

Perhaps using readlink is ok, assuming it solves some fiddly issue?
AIX is a bit exotic and requiring to install an extension package could be 
reasonable after all.
Otherwise, I have an AIX test system and could look for a bash alternative to 
readlink.
