*“Full Stack” Software Engineer (Java, J2EE, Javascript, Angular, Node, React.js, and server-side development )* Location: *San Jose, CA* Duration: 12+ Months Position must sit in San Jose (preferred) or Boston. DESCRIPTION: We are seeking accomplished and passionate Software Engineers to join our existing team in San Jose or Boston, contributing to the exciting future of software products/technologies that fall under our mobile and particularly "PayPal Here" product family. The successful candidate will work closely and collaboratively with the entire product development team during all phases software development and lifecycle. We’re seeking individuals with an equal flair for creative problem solving, familiarity with full stack development, agile methodologies, test automation and preferably foosball skills. "PayPal Here" is one of the fastest evolving and high visibility applications of PayPal product line; and we’re hoping to expanding our team with superstars. RESPONSIBILITIES • Designing and implementing server-side applications, middleware and frameworks • Developing features, maintaining and fixing defects on our current stack *• Optionally contributing to mobile product and projects * • Create robust and scalable high-volume production applications and develop prototypes quickly • Contribute to our existing continuous integration framework by automating features • Research, analyze, design, develop and test the solutions that are appropriate for the business and technology strategy • Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and project related team meetings • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and shared knowledge • Collaborate with product management, QA, operations and engineering teams to develop innovative solutions that meet business needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, and adherence to development principles and product goals REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS • Proficiency in OO design, data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and industry standards tools for application development *• Java, Javascript, Node, and server-side development * *• Experience in NoSQL databases* e.g Mongo DB and/or relational databases e.g Oracle • Experience in *building scalable RESTful services* • Experience with *JavaScript, architecture, templating systems* (e.g. Dust) • Proficiency in Agile software development process and SCRUM process • Proficiency in industry-standard development IDEs • Proficiency in industry-standard development tools, environments and frameworks such as Linux, Unix, Shell, GIT • Source control and workflow – GIT REQUIRED SOFT SKILLS • Team-player.
