Position: *Software Engineer* Location: Plano,TX Contract: 6 months with option to hire based on business demands Description *C Developer In Microsoft environment * This position will support key development activities within the Stores IT Development team. A strong combination of object oriented coding practices, design principles, trouble-shooting and customer interface skills are critical. Many projects require interfacing with multiple development and common IT service areas. All projects must follow Client Project Management methodology and documentation. Base store applications operate on a .NET and SQL architecture utilizing a combination of in-house and 3rd party software. Most applications operate in a Windows 2000 server and SQL 7.0 environment with a near term migration path to Windows 2008 and SQL 2008. One application includes ASP VB4 with a direction to migrate to .NET platform. Key applications are deployed across Client's stores with over 36,000 registers. Strong development experience in *Visual Basic, C, C++, C# *is critical, along with experience in database access methods and application security characteristics. Environment demands strong initiative, collaboration skills and independence. This function is for the rare individual who enjoys a broad span of control from customer interaction through deployment and monitoring on projects. The duration of this assignment is planned for a *6 month assignment *with an *option to hire based on business demands *.
