Hi,
First of, the mailing list is being abandoned, so you have a higher
chance at getting an answer on StackOverflow.
Secondly, iText 5.5.6-snapshot opens the PDFs just fine. Could you retry
with 5.5.5 or the latest build from the repo (5.5.6-SNAPSHOT)?
