That is because some alternative readers are NOT fully compliant with
PDF specification. XFA has been part of PDF since version 1.5.
Perhaps you should recommend that your users do not use non-compliant
viewers - or talk to the developers of such viewers and get them to
support the full spe

Manipulation only the XFA-part of my form works with Adobe Reader,
but not with alternative readers like foxit. This is really a pity.
