Leonard, I hate to be stupid, but I am there now. How do you set the drawing
mode of the text to 3? Will I still be able to see the text after that?

Environment is iText 2.1.4 / RAD 7 / Windows XP.
I am able to watermark ordinary PDF's and a PDF/A image I created using
Adobe Professional. But when I try to update a scanned PDF/A (non-OCR) image
I get the following error:
