Are you ready for the Holidays? How about a head start?
NOW would be a GREAT time to get ready for the HOLIDAYS !!
You probably have received this in the past and done nothing about it, then
wondered about it. It really does work. All you need is to invest some
time and effort into this, but

I'm having tremendous difficulty finding a flexible way to run
setuid root java programs. My unique constraint is that I cannot
add the java lib directory to /etc/ld.so.conf because I have many
different JVM versions installed. It appears that when the euid is
0, it ignores LD_LIBRARY_PATH.

I would like to post this quick summary of what I have learned:

Way off topic...but if you right click the link, then do a "Sava as..."

As to win95, it will do some filename adjustment (mangle), but rename it
under Linux
and the data will be fiine.

Hi,
I have an intel-based machine with Linux(slackware 3.3) installed on a

First, let me thank you for your quick response.
Second, let me say, simply: It is. :-)
I appreciate your help, and now I'll just quietly slip back under the nearest rock!
Thanks again,

The issue here is that the RMI registy is checking that the client's hostname
matches the local hostname on bind() and rebind() calls. In addition the
IP addresses are checked for a match.
The logic is:
InetAddress localhost = InetAddress.getLocalHost();
Class class = Class.f
Can someone help me out, here? I'm sure that some of you have solved this

that deals
with this. I tried putting my machine as the first line in /etc/hosts as suggested:

It's about time someone stood up to those cronies
I love the statement made by Maritez
"The option of not supporting Java is one that is open to us"
This is one statement I would love to see happen!!!
I would love to see how much Microsoft reeaaayyy doesn't need Java.

1) There is a problem with XFree86 that prevents top level accelerators
being installed. I believe this with Metrolink X server with any problem.
