Sorry, I didn't realized that jffs2 was Journaling flash file system.
So did you mean jffs2 version of JRE is already available or you made it
yourself? Since Familiar will fit in 16MB of ROM, if I have a iPaq(H3700)
with 32MB of ROM, can I put JRE into ROM also?

Sorry about that, it's 32MB of RAM, 64MB of RAM... the last 96 hours
have been just one long day :)
You can successfully install it it along with the required libraries in
the 64MB; however, depending on your application requirements, you might
run out of space fast.

I wave installed it on a 3800 with 64MB of ROM, but believe it or not,
it leaves plenty of room thanks to jffs2; however, I would recommend
installing it on a CF card. Try to leave as much room available for
other more vital support utilities.
Also make sure you install:
libstdc++2.10-glibc2.2
