The LiveConnect classes work with IE as they do with Netscape (at least with
IE 4 and 5)...

I have been programming in Java for over a year, using it mainly because of
its technical merits but also because it seemed to be the "anti-Microsoft".

nd when I run a .class file java reports that
the class can't be found. If I set the classpath to a much smaller amount
of characters the program runs...
Any suggestions on how to solve this problem (except from decompressing
all the .jar files in the library directory) ?

I always get this message when I use javac or java
/usr/local/jdk116_v5/bin/../bin/checkVersions: /tmp/ldd.out.32702:
Permission denied
and then it gives a core dump.
Is there something set wrong on my box? Running RH5.1 with the latest
patches.
