We have been looking into using JIT with our application. I've tried JIT (using j2sdk-1.3.0-FCS-linux-i386 and the classic VM), and our application seems to run faster with it than with the HotSpot VM. I'd like to use JIT, but JIT doesn't seem to be in Blackdown's j2re-1.3.0-FCS-linux-i386. My questions are this: Why isn't JIT used by default in both SDK and JRE? Is there a reason I shouldn't be using JIT?
