Is anyone doing enterprise Java development on PPC
hardware?

I am a Mac guy about to take a new job doing EJB/JSP. I don't
want to switch to x86 hardware at home, but fear I must. The
current Mac OS doesn't support Java 2, and so Sun's J2EE isn't
available for it. It's too early, in my (maybe uninformed) opinion,
to bank on OS-X.

I noticed that SuSE Linux for PPC includes the Java 2 SDK, but I
couldn't get them to confirm that it actually works well. Pardon my
ignorance on this, but isn't Apple's inability to implement Java 2
correctly on Mac OS due mainly to OS compatibility, or is it also a
hardware compatibility problem?

To get to the point: Can the J2EE platform be successfully
downloaded on some form of Linux on a Mac, and is there a
decent enough environment available in which to build EJB &
JSP?

Thanks for any and all help,

Erik
