Hello, I was wondering whether the 2D Api is supported by JDK1.1.6. If not, do you plan to supported and when? If you do then could you tell me where it is. From JavaSoft's docs it should be at java.awt.geom, and it is a core class. Regards, George

I agree Java seems much faster under Linux that under Win95. By no means would I suggest using Win95 if it could be avoided, but if you *had* to for some reason, there is a compiler (GCC) for Win95/NT. See the Cygnus website at and look for `gnuwin32'. -- Geoffrey S. K

Hi, I would need Java 2D for my diploma thesis, but SUN only makes Java 1.2beta available for their machines and for another system nobody wants to work with :-) Is there an isolated Java 2D available (like Swing and other APIs) or - escpecially a question to Steve Byrne - is it hard to extract
