I have recently installed the new XFree86-4.0 server with OpenGL/DRI
support.
I could not use hardware acceleration because the application fails in
linking against opengl.
I have verified that the right path to the libraries is choosen.
Setting the environment variable
I don't know a lot about this new release, but what little I've
seen seems to indicate that it can render TrueType fonts without
a separate TT font server. Will this have any bearing on the
"ugly font" problem WRT Java 2 on Linux? My users would run me
out of town if I gave them Java 2 the way
