Sometimes, the problem is Netscape 4.X where X=0,1... don't support JDK1.1.X. You can see Java Console. When you open it, shows JVM's version which is contained in that netscape. But, when Java Console shows JDK1.1.2 DON'T SUPPORT JDK1.1.X. ONLY IF JAVA CONSOLE SHOWS JDK1.1.5 to JDK1.1.7 One tim

I've had the same problem.. The classpath from JDK conflicted with Netscapes. I solved it by using a startupscript for Netscape were I specified Netscapes classpath. -- Martin Stenderup
