Also, you should allways "unset CLASSPATH" before running Netscape. If there are JDK
classes
on your classpath, Netscape will allmost certainly crash while starting Java.

In my opinion the JVM in Netscape for Linux has always been buggy. We develop
software for internet kiosks running Linux and our biggest problem with Netscape
is crashes with Java and animated gifs (especially large ones). We are using
Redhat 5.1 and actually have found the Caldera distribution
