I assume you know how naughty absolute positioning is. Ten lashes with a
wet noodle for you.
It sounds as though you're assuming that the text is a certain size, and
that it is actually a different size. If you're not using FontMetrics,
you should be.

We're having a really difficult time properly displaying text within a
text field using the standard dialog font. For some reason, the text
within the text field gets pushed down such that only the very tops
of the characters are visible. Under MSwindows there are no
problem
