I had a problem with the jar command which appears to occur with v4a and v5. Specifically, when I jar cvf my.jar all is well and the jar file is created. However, when I attempt jar tvf my.jar I get an error (sorry, my Linux box is at home, so I do not have the exact error). Anyway, the er

I agree. Tower J is somewhat limited in terms of full java capabilities, ie compiles the complete application before hand. Now if the linux JVM were to perform as well as some *other* vendor's JVM, we would all have great reason to celebrate! Please do not misunderstand, I love linux and java.

I have posted this question before, but received no responses.  I hope someone can help! I am running RedHat Linux 5.0 on a pentium 166 with 128 MB of RAM, 2.5 GB harddrive, and 127 MB swap file.  I am using the JDK 1.1.5 from Blackdown.  I notice that the JVM runs VERY slow and hogs my system.
