O resultado em termos de dados eh absolutamente igual. A diferenca aparece no "order by". Talvez você esteja com um problema de Locale/characterset que de alguma forma esteja influenciando na ordenacao feita pelo banco de dados - no caso do thin driver da oracle, o Locale eh recuperado a partir do parametros setados na JVM do cliente (aquele que faz as chamadas JDBC ao BD). QUANDO EXECUTO UMA QUERY COM A CLAUSULA ORDER BY EM UM CAMPO STRING O DRIVER SE CONFUNDE COM OS PONTOS "."
