I *hope* they do it this way, I'll have to check it. The number of fields
cannot be made smaller as it has to respect an existing standard, regard to
what you explain, searching concatened fields seems to be a smart way to do it.

Flushing an index to disk is just an IndexWriter.commit(), there's nothing

I did it by modifying QueryParser.jj and regenerating corresponding java files.
But it is better to use (teach users) + - universal operators.
