Hi Patricia,
There is a program called Belarc advisor.
Once run, it will provide you a ton of information about your computer,
including what kind of motherboard you have, what kind of video card and
sound card you have installed and everything.
I believe David once said that it's available o
I need to know if by going to my computer and doing alt-enter on it and then

I have an html document on my hard drive. When I go to open the thing, I
get a double bleep, and a
message about active content. The sound is the sound one gets when there is
a popup.
The upshot is that I can't seem to access any links.
Can someone tell me what's going on, and what I can do ab
Hi Doug,
Sounds like you are getting the information bar.
Somewhere there should be a dialogue that you can ok, and then hit alt N, to
get a context menu of options to read the document.

Hi Scooter, John and Mark,
Your help is much appreciated.
OK, I'm far too literal I guess, a good atribute in my job, and so did
type in the word "space". I went back in and took out the word and
simply hit the space bar and WaLa, it works!
Thanks for your patience!

Hope this isn't too much off topic but.
I'm using an Acer Travelmate laptop with a bunch of mouse controls just
below the main keyboard.
Unfortunately, when resting my palms on the kdyboard, the mouse controls get
activated.
Is there a way of disabling that mouse pad arrangement??
Thanks
Re: Getting the Greaters OutHi
Typing the word space instead of pressing the space bar would cause the
symptoms she described alright.

Its possible that going back in and editing out the space in the jaws
dictionary manager and leaving this area blank might fix this. If you used the

I have JFW 8 on two computers, and am having no issues. In fact, it
works a lot better with Eudora than did version 7.

Re: Getting the Greaters OutI'm wondering if maybe instead of hitting the
space bar, she might have actually typed in the word space?

Re: Getting the Greaters OutMy Thoughts is where you made your mistake was once
you put the space in you should have left that area emptied.

It turns out that the need for space and band with was getting to be more than
the little package I had purchased was going to be able to handle. A year ago
when my wife and I talked about this we figured that it was best to start out
small, who knew it would grow so quickly.

I've just heard that some of you should now be able to access the site at it's
new location. For those who still can't a duplicate is still posted at the old

OK, I followed Jimmy's directions to do this, at least I think I did,
and now instead of saying > it says "space".
What did I do wrong and how do I get it to instead say nothing when it
sees the > sign instead of saying "space"?
Thanks, Carrie
