Hi Patricia,
I'm just getting caught up on e-mail, and ran into your message.
As I have found out recently, Outlook Express is very much portable, more so
than even I thought.
One thing you can do is create a new identity on your daughter's computer in
Outlook Express.
At that point, when
If you want to avoid messages opening up automatically, disable the preview
pane by going into the view menu, then entering on the layout...
Once in there, uncheck the box that says preview pane.
Then you'll have to open the messages manually to read them.
Victor
I just thought of another point you might want to consider if you want to
keep the preview pane open.
There is a check box that you can uncheck in the options dialog box under
the read tab.
Go into your tools menu by pressing alt+T, then press O for options.
Once in the dialog box,
Thank you very much Victor. I will save this and put it on her computer when
I get there.

Hi Patricia,
I'm
Well I'm taking this program around the block right now so to speak, and
here are a couple of first impressions for anybody who's interested.
It's a bit more work to setup but that seems to be because this program
is much more fully featured than pop corn at least at first glance. I'm

Thank you David.
I am very interested.

Apart from configuring it to run from something like a USB memory device and
presumably storing the downloaded messages there is there any other
advantage to running either this or the popcorn programme?
Is there a reason why Outlook Express could not also be set up to run from
such a device?
So far as running outlook express from a portable device I can't speak to
that at all having never tried such a thing. I've noticed as I said earlier
it does have a spell checker where pop corn does not. So far as a side by
side competition goes the jury is still out.

Hello back, ok, most blind or partially sighted folks use Nero. It reads
ok to pretty good with Jaws 8. You might have someone walk you through if
your totally blind, then you can learn the way to move around with key
strokes.
But, I've run into a problem with text aloud files not fitting onto a
Some computers, particularly the ones I used, comes with a very
accessible cd burning programme called Sonic Record Now! I've managed to
use it very successfully to create CD's without problems. So, if you
have it, why not give it a try. Hope that helps.

Hi John,
Below is what I got from Freedom Scientific knowledge base. I had it
for several years as a reminder, but I think that nothing has
changed. I am currently using PCI sound card for my Jaws 8.0 and my
main speakers are used for music and other sounds. I also do
recording of my LPs and
Hi Dale,
My guess is that if you knew what all of the supporting files were, and it
didn't have to write to the registry,,
Outlook Express could probably be portable.
Just my thoughts,Richard Justice

Hi, this condition exists when you press insert J to bring up the Jaws
window and then you press insert control v to get the jaws version and other
useful info. Oh, by the way, this was discussed a great deal on the
Jawsscripts email list.

If you have IE7 on your machine, do the following, and you'll notice
something strange that can only be discovered through scripting grins.
1. Press insert+j to open the JAWS window.
2. Press control+insert+v, and note the incorrect Internet Explorer
version.
Hope that helps.
