[JAWS-Users] Re: Doing a repair on JAWS
David: Using JAWS 8.0 latest version, IE7, Outlook express, I am having a similar problem, there are times the message will come up in a minute or so but there other times it will not read. When it won't read the only option I have found is to hit the escape key then enter on the message again. Looking for a better solution, George R. The reason I say that is on my system the issue here is when I go to reply to an email which you might guess happens around 50 times a day or so every once in a while jaws takes maybe a half a minute to bring up my edit field so I can write my message. This is boarder line irritating because something is making it very sluggish. Now that's the only issue I can point toward in this version of jaws at this time. So if your system is at all like mine my guess is and I know this is less than an optimal idea wait a minute and see if it comes up on it's own. I in having this problem found out that it was just slow because once I tried to reply an email and right then the phone rang or something so I got distracted long enough that my message edit field popped up on it's own. I'm really getting frustrated because yeterday, any email I entered on to read, jaws simplys topped talking altogether. I think it behaved better last night, but now I'm not sure what to expect. FS told me to download the newest update completely and daw a repair. I tried that and still nothing. This time, I got an error that set up could not follow the command because something was missing. Any suggestions (eventhrowing the laptop out the window) would be readily accepted at this time! The setup program should start automatically, and inform you that Jaws is already installed, and then ask you what you want to do. This is where you will get the repair option. [JAWS-Users] DLL relocation
Hi All: For the last couple of days when I boot-up my computer I get the following error message: RTHDCPL.EXE - Illegal System DLL Relocation The system DLL user32.dll was relocated in memory. The application will not run properly. The relocation occurred because the DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\HHCTRL.OCX occupied an address range reserved for Windows system DLLs. The vendor supplying the DLL should be contacted for a new DLL. OK I haven't updated or down loaded any applications except the latest JAWS 8 update and that was a few days before I noticed this occuring. Does anyone have any idea as to what this .ocx is for and what vendor should be contacted? I am running XP Home. Thanks, George R. [JAWS-Users] Re: Google toolbar within IE7.
Hi: Just a note to let you guys know that removing the Google tool bar fixed the problem I was having with the display of links (jawskey+F7) in the Wachovia Bank Bill pay page. Just to refresh your memory of the problem (I wrote about it here), A couple of the links, for accounts I have setup wouldn't display when using the jaws key+F7, so then I would have to move to a link below the ones that didn't display, then arrow up to the one I wanted to use. After removing the google tool bar all links now display. HTH, George R. [JAWS-Users] Problem with displaying links
Hi: Iam using JAWS8, XP home, IE7 and the latest Microsoft updates. While using the Wachovia Bank Bill pay web page: I usually hit insert+F7 then the first letter of the payers name I intend to set-up for payment then the move to link and arrow down to the amount and date to pay fields. Now for the last week or two a couple of the payers names do not appear in the list of links specifically Discover Card and the one just below it. I can get around this by hitting s taking me to my Sams card, using the move to command, then arrowing up to the Discover card, it is displayed this way. Now I don't think this is a JAWS problem since the problem begin sometime after I started using version 8, I suspect the problem is with the last Microsoft update. I guess what I am asking does anyone else use Wachovia bill pay with IE7 and the last Microsoft update and do you have a similar problem? Anyone else has an idea what is happening, please respond. In any case, as the subject line says, my friend essentially needs to convert audio files to text files, with exact transcripts of what is said in the interviews she intends on doing. I thought about Dragon Naturally speaking, but then realized that she can only train Dragon in her voice, and not the other 40 voices she's going to be interviewing. So, does anyone have any advice for me, aside from her sitting there and typing out 80 to 100 hours worth of interviews? Any software that anyone knows about? Again, my apologies to the lists I'm on, but as I said, time is of the essence.
