Outlook is not always very easy. If the attachments are in an attachment header line of the message then what Patti says works. However if you are reading RTF e-mail's., and the attachment is in the body JAWS 5-7 have a horrible time. I find two options work best. 1. Use the context menu from the list of e-mail's and then hit 'h' for attachment. 2. In the File menu when reading the message there is a 'save attachment' item below the save and save as. I have also sometimes done the process. When I hear 'blank blank' when reading by line in Outlook. II move the jaws cursor to the Virtual cursor and I can usually find the file name. Clicking on the file name and then switching back to the Virtual cursor and hitting enter will open that attachment. I have tried all sorts of things to make these attachments more 'visible' I have A) turned on graphics verbosity to all. B) changed the cursor settings to let me know when the cursor changes (when it says unknown it usually means it is over a attachment, but that only works in JAWS cursor mode and if the cursor is directly over the attachment.)
