Hi Everyone,
I'm new to this list. Some of you may know me from my yahoo computer
group as well as other lists I've been on. Anyway, I'm glad to be a
part of this list.
I'd like to jump right in with a question regarding Nero 8.3. I'm using

Try using the custom highlight assign, insert + f2. Just route jaws
to pc and move it to the menu you want to read. Let jaws pick the
colors or you could make sure they are the right colors with insert + 5.

Ok I'm having a brain mental pause and need alittle jumpstart on starting
jaws.
I uninstalled an older version Jaws 7.0 and consequently, when after
rebooting, I had no speech till I used a hot key to bring it up, which was
version 8.
So still having version 7.10 and 8 on here, do I uncheck jaws
Hi Patricia,
You are correct. I might also suggest that you go to your desktop and
find the Jaws 7.10 hotkey, open it's properties and make sure that you
blank it out if it's assigned to alt-control-J.
This way, you can assign that shortcut to Jaws 8.0.

I have a hot key for jaws 7.10 and 8 respectively..
Just when I booted back up there was no speech and 8 was unchecked...
So wonder if jaws assumes the next version in question and make it the
default as jaws 7 was removed and 7.10 next in line which it was checked to
startup, but didn't hmmm...
Hello everyone,
I was on a web site and I wanted to register, so I hit f for forms mode. I
landed in a combo box, and I needed to select something. Jaws said use your up
or down arrow keys to make a selection. As soon as I hit my down arrow key to
look at my choices I went back out of forms
Sometimes you need to use the combination of Alt and down arrow to open a
list in a combo box.

Hey Lisa,
Give this a try. The next time you are in a combo box, hold down the
Alt key and then hit down arrow. This will put you into the combo box
and you can arrow up and down to make your choice.
Usually hitting Tab will activate the choice you made.

In addition to what has already been said, in my experience, I find it best,
after you've used the alt+arrow keys to open the combo box, then arrowed
down to your selection, and, upon reaching your choice, it's best to close
the combo box with alt+up arrow, as this will complete the

Hi Carla,
There is a free program called ExpressRip that will let you rip a CD
into mp3 or wave format. You can also choose what bit rate to use for
mp3's all the way up to 320 KB. It will go online to the CDDB database
and find the artist and track info of the CD's.

Hi, Marilyn. What I do is when I come to a combo box, I go into forms mode

close the list with alt up arrow. That highlights my item. I did this
