I am having similar issues using XP and JAWS 13 on my home computer. I am suspecting bad RAM memory as it is an older computer. Also, I am not convinced that my XP software is not corrupted in some manner but as it is on it's end of life road. (grin) Another issue is that after all these years

Absolutely not true. There is no text to speech program for the Mac that comes remotely close to Open Book or Kurzweil 1000. Serotek offers DocuScan Plus which workks with the Mac, but it is very limited compared to the two Windows text-to-speech programs, Gerald - Original Message -
