Hi Theresa,
To reset IE when it will not respond, open the program, then open Internet
Options under the Tools tab, Press Control tab and find the Advanced tab.
Then, tab down twice to the Reset button and press enter on it. Follow any
other prompts, and let it finish resetting itself.
when the person sent me the document, they said that there was something in

A, okay, only JAWS 16 Beta will actually to OCR on a PDF document. That is
why you are having issues.
So with JAWS 15 you can not read this document.

Okay, well I can't really decide what John's vision I'm going to get,
apparently that's up to whatever at the rehab center will get for me. And
whatever they will cover. So I guess I'm out of luck there.

Hello Mike,
Thanks for the tip. It worked. Since I couldn't oopen the program I went to
internet options through the control panel and reset IE as you said. I also
found that multiples pages were on screen, so I had to delete temporary
files. Now it is working like it should be.
Tnaks again.
Simon, this from the JAWS 16 Beta information:
Enhanced Convenient OCR for PDF Documents
The Convenient OCR (Optical Character Recognition) feature now allows you to
recognize entire PDF documents. Convenient OCR was first introduced in JAWS 13
and allows you to recognize any images visible on
Hi Simon,
There's a website called, Convert Files, that can convert the file for you
into a text file. But first, there's a link for a tutorial below that
explains how to use the website:
http://www.jaws-users.com/audio/Internet/ConvertFiles.mp3
Below is the URL for the website:
I tried the link, it converted the file, but it put all sorts of symbols and
letters and its barely readable with a screen reader, I will have the rehab
centre for the blind here get rid of all that extra garbage thanks for the
link.
