developed by jamal mazrui that gets around the 'protection failures'
sometimes set to stymie both the wary and unwary blind screen-reader
user. There's a checkbox in its settings to check, so that it'll do OCR
when necessary.
As David has stated, attachments are stripped by mailman.
This is done for the protection of list members.
