Hello, List,
The subject line tells you what braille display and version of JAWS I'm
running. Additionally I'm running a 64-bit version of Windows 7.
In older versions of JAWS, I had some ability to control the point at which
characters on the display began to slide leftward out of view

Go into JAWS Options, Braillle, tab to Advanced... and enter, and open
General. One of the items in that submenu is Panning, which you open.

C J, my fix is to close the message by hitting ESCAPE, then hitting DELETE.
It's only 1 extra keystroke, and I was already doing it most of the time
back in the good old days of Outlook Express. Cheers! JH

Sorry for a slight redirection of this topic, but I'm not able to access a
VIEW menu in Outlook 2007. Needing to do that first for a fix for the BCC
field, any suggestions? Thanks. JH

Tom,
I can tell you how to switch from the PC to JAWS cursor. With the NUM LOCK
off, hit the minus sign or dash on the number pad, top row key farthest to
the right. JAWS will then say, JAWS cursor. Given my own unadventurous
use of JAWS, I've never really figured out what switching to the
Hi, List,
Currently soldiering on without a braille display, this matter of cursor
position has come to be of interest to me.
On my keyboard, running WIN7 and just-updated JAWS, I find it's the keyboard
DELETE, not numpad that works. The first number gives me the position in a
line of text;

I'm now running JAWS 14 with a 64-bit version of Windows 7, Office 2007, and

Often when using the READ ALL command to read documents including MS Word,

First, check to see if your CAPS LOCK is on. With the default setting I'm

Hi, Jenny,
I'm a learner on this list, not a teacher, so hopefully someone else can
give you a more complete answer.
But on occasions when I've lost access to YouTube material, it usually
turned out to be a problem with Adobe Flash. So I'm guessing that program

FWIW, I was forced to upgrade to WIN 7 after my old XP computer died last
October. The geek shop I dealt with sold me IE9 along with the OS. IE10
wasn't mentioned and, BTW, they also weren't then recommending WIN8 to any
of their customers. This was an ordinary, garden variety geek shop, not
I've observed with JAWS 14 that I have to make sure manually that the cursor
is at the first line of the message, then give a READ-ALL command.
As far as a mute issue, JAWS seems to stop reading in both e-mail messages
and on web pages, and I have to repeat my READ-ALL command to get it to
