Well, the idea that something was taking over was the key. Once I removed
Macafee, hot-god, no more losing focus. Thanks. BTW, I have only done the
removal on my computer but I did check out the removal tool on their site
and I didn't see anything that seemed like the actual download. When I
clicked on any of the things that seemed like they should be the download,
they were only a graphic. How important is it to get all of it off?

Thank you.

Hi All,

Please be sure to follow the directions if you get an e mail saying that
you are bouncing. There currently seems to be a problem with Road Runner
addresses. But others may also be affected in the very near future. So just
be sure to do as the e mail instructs and you will be back to normal.

I just fixed a broken link reported to me by a list member, so the point of
this message is 2 fold. First of all to thank her for letting me know.
Secondly to let the rest of you out there be aware that if you would happen
to find a broken link to let me know so I can either fix it, or if I can't
then just remove it.

Hi Bob, I've occasionally had this happen I'm in the mailman list that I am
on and myself and the owners have had to constantly reenable a bunch of
accounts when this happens. We had to do this, because they weren't
receiving the notification. And particular, the groups that Alan Robbins
runs is where I've had to do this.

I set this server to take care of that kind of thing on its' own. You folks
have to follow the directions in the message you receive in order to
reactivate your accounts. Mailman is tuff to setup at first but after that
it's a well oiled machine.

People have asked me for help with Mailman. Now I do a lot for free but
Mailman is not one of those things that fall in that category.

I just installed this program. A little bird from Germany said it slowed
down his computer, as Internet based. Being Me not a Tech, person. I want to
know because I have hardly any down and up load speed. I want to know before
Time Warner Internet shows up here tomorrow, Friday, between 3 and 4pm to
check the lines on the cable and their box.

Over all it seems to be running smoothly and found nothing. Pretty straight
forward for me, just some areas in It I won't go, 98% of it Jaws 17 is
reading.

Just want to know if a hog on the Internet side of things?

Is there any problems removing MacAfee anti virus software. I know a few
years ago I could not remove Norton from my daughter's computer. even their
removal tool did not work.
The lap top came with a 30 day free MacAfee antivirus. For vipre I had
purchased a 2 year 2 computer package. For $29 I can add the 3rd computer. I
still have 13 months on that contract.

Hi David, we haven't set up the same way. However, sometimes the server
would just act wonky, and do whatever it wanted to. Let for instance, almost
a year ago now, Alan when I'm vacation like he is now, And I would say's
coma for one of his groups. And what it happened, a's we have over 40
bouncers at the current time on one group before he left, he had to give me
Athens permissions in order to go and fix those. And he also had to put me
in contact with the holster people which was over a host in order to fixed
the issues while he was going on vacation because I was the only one that he
could get a hold of. So in everybody else's case year, what I suggest you do
is if you noticed that you're not receiving mail and you know what your list
password is or if you know how to retrieve it, I suggest you do so and you
can login and check your own mailman settings and this floor also apply if
you don't receive a notification to reenable your mail via email. Blah

Hello, in this case it means win mailman text that your email provider has
received too many emails from this list,/any other list. It will disable
your mail. So want to messages sent to the group, it's going to bounce back
to the server until the server that this individual has too many emails and
ask the server to reenable it's mail. So that's when you will get an email
from mailman asking to reset your account. I hope this answers all your
questions, and if you need any further explanations or if anybody needs any
more further exclamations feel free to right myself or the owners of this
list for further clarification. As I'm willing to help.

Hi.
I'm not sure if it's better or worse than mail man, but I use dadamail
for my two list serves. For you technical types out there, it doesn't
require a cron job or anything too fancy like that. If I recall, you
have to set up an email address for everyone on the list to send to, and
set that host up to forward the mails received there to another email
account, which dadamail monitors. Dadamail doesn't support conversation
list serves by default, just listen only ones, but it has a plugin that
is included with it which you can turn on to get this functionality. I
still find it rather tricky to set up.

The simplest way is to just press J. The default line number which is
already entered is the current line number. Depending on the
environment/version of JAWS, this does not get announced when J is pressed
so you might never know it was there unless you investigated it.

I have had the same issue because of the touch pad on the computer. My old

just purchased an HP and the FN ke does not work unless a sighted person

I just got my email set up to outlook 2010 and would like to have the unread

the unread message goes away.

I changed this on my old system but that has been a couple years ago and do

All help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Interesting, I have never heard of dadamail.

Hi.
I'm not sure if it's better or worse than mail man, but I use dadamail for
my two list serves. For you technical types out there, it doesn't require a
cron job or anything too fancy like that. If I recall, you have to set up an
email address for everyone on the list to send to, and set that host up to
forward the mails received there to another email account, which dadamail
monitors. Dadamail doesn't support conversation list serves by default, just
listen only ones, but it has a plugin that is included with it which you can
turn on to get this functionality. I still find it rather tricky to set up.

label the form fields.
Thanks again.

I think these will work, even to change the name of a field. At least, they
worked several years ago.
Labeling unlabelled form fields

This is an incredibly frustrating problem. You can type in your own custom
labels. But, it takes a sighted person to help you.

1. Go to the form field that is not read out by JAWS.

2. Have the sighted person read to you the label on the field.

3. Hold down the insert key and strike the F2 key.

4. Arrow down to custom label and strike enter.

5. You will hear a high pitch and the word edit.

6. Type in the label you want.

7. Tab to the OK button and strike enter.

Hi all,

We needed to upgrade my computer at work from JAWS 13 TO JAWS 17 and office
2013.

I need to label some for fields and I am not sure how to do it.

I would appreciate if someone could send me instructions on how to label a
form field.

Thanks in advance.

If your account bounces you will receive a message telling you to reply to
reactivate your normal mail delivery. If you do not then the server will
remove you after a given amount of time.

It is easy for you and for us as well.

My take on this is that it isn't JAWS loosing focus rather than
something else on your PC randomly 'taking over'.
Notification pop-ups from anti virii or similar scheduled software would
be prime suspects.

There is a Mcafee removal tool to totally remove Mcafee. I think you can
get it from their site. otherwise a regular uninstall does leave a bunch of
junk behind.

Hello,
I have a new Windows 10 computer and I am using jaws 17. It seems to have
been losing focus fairly often all along, but now it is so bad, I could not
even think about writing this email on my computer. Hence, I am using my
phone. Anyway, if someone has any ideas, please let me know. It is a small
Lenovo laptop and it has become unbearable.
Thanks for any help!

In my opinion, it's Jaws 17 being used on a w-10 computer.
Jaws 16, latest release works much smoother in w-10.
I am not just saying this, I have done many different test of Jaws 16 and
with Jaws 17, using different programs and using different web sites.
I have went back to using the latest Jaws 16 on my w-10 computer.
I still use Jaws 17 for testing purposes.
Just my two cents worth.

My take on this is that it isn't JAWS loosing focus rather than
something else on your PC randomly 'taking over'.
Notification pop-ups from anti virii or similar scheduled software would
be prime suspects.

Yes, try the latest version of Jaws 16.
See if you notice a big difference.
If not, it is a customizing setting somewhere.

I had to turn the touchpad off on my Lenovo because I kept
inadvertently touching it.

I'm using windows 7 so can't tell you how to do it under windows 10,
but google should be able to turn something up.

Is there a way to direct all my files created in Micro Soft programs
automatically into My Documents?

Jaws 15.0, Windows 7 and Micro Soft 2010.

Thanks! Jim.

Hello Gang:

Using Windows 7 and JAWS 16.

Have been trying to download and install MS updates, other than Windows 10.
When I check all the boxes and tab to the OK button, The percentage never
gets off zero. And, I never see the download or install button. The only
other thing I see is the get started button, which will install Windows 10.
I don't want Windows 10 on this computer right now

How do I download and install those other updates? Getting frustrated.

 Thanks. Neil

Hi Kurt,

Let me 1st preface by saying I don't use Outlook 2010, but here's a note
I've saved for future reference regarding this topic:

From: Tom Behler
Hello, everyone.

I don't know how useful this will be to the list as a whole, but thought I
would share it on the list in hopes that it will be of use to someone other
than myself.

For the past few months, I have been struggling with a problem in Outlook
2010, where unread items don't stay marked as unread as I scroll up and down
my inbox message list.

It turns out that this problem can be addressed by changing a setting in the
program, and here's how it's done.

Directions for keeping emails as UNREAD in Outlook 2010:

Go to the View Tab

In the layout menu click on Reading Pane

Choose Options from the drop-down menu

Uncheck "Mark items as read when selection changes"

Hit OK

Tom Behler from Michigan

From: David
Hello there;
I just want to point out,
The instructions you gave are absolutely correct,
However,
If folks have the reading pane set to off,
The options button is unavailable.
So, you would need to change the reading pane, to right, bottom,
Then make the change in the reading pane/options.
David

Take care.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Want to leave the unread left on emails

Hi all,

I just got my email set up to outlook 2010 and would like to have the unread
message left on the emails that I have not read yet. Now when I pass over 1,
the unread message goes away.

I changed this on my old system but that has been a couple years ago and do
not remember how to change it.

All help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Kurt
