I haven't had an issue with Thunderbird reading e-mails after I got a faster computer and started using the down arrow to read once JAWS set. Have you set your receiving emails to HTML or to text? HTML takes longer to open - they don't open and begin reading instantaneously like Eudora did.

Hi. I like thunderbird, though I wouldn't say that it's just like Windows Live Mail. That said, I do have a problem with it right now where I can't read any messages with 45.1.1 when I use JAWS. I have to use NVDA to read my email for now until I figure out what's wrong. Cheers, Aaron Spea
