Well, the reason is because when you get into the world of Windows 7, Microsoft changed how some things work, mostly with regards to the Windows key. Freedom Scientific had to do something to make sure the functionality stayed in the product while honoring the new OS.

That's a very good observation. I never thought about it that way, but yes, that's true. I've noticed that it used to be a lot easier to get things completely messed up, but now it's becoming a lot more difficult to do so, which is a very good thing.
