[JAWS-Users] MSWord 2007 not showing all files, is it a JFW problem

2014-07-14 Thread Fanus
Hello list
I have a .doc file in the root of my hard drive. When I use the open command in
MSWord 2007 and I select MSWord 2003 as the type and then navigate to the
treeview of files it shows all the folders but just a few .zip files. This also
happens when I try to open a .txt file. It also happens when I select another
drive or even a memory stick.
I don't know if it is a JFW problem, so if it is not, please forgive that I
asked this on the jaws list.
Regards
Fanus

You will find the .doc file and .txt files in a litview or within a
listview of files in a subfolder of My Documentt (or Documents. .zip
files are actually folders.

Files will be in a listview not a Treeview. What OS are you using?
Windows has complicated the structures of locating the folders for
files
as it has evolved. For example, they're now in libraries and such. More
and more, folders serves not really AS DIRECTORIES. - More like wrappers
or paper covers. Maybe you

ought to do a Find Files Folders search, inputting the file name
(possibly without any suffix, at first) into the search field; then when
the listview of search results comes up press alt-i for open containing
folder on the file (or copies of the file) in question. but it'd be
better to indicate the OS if you need more assistance.
