Hi All,

Are all Vipre products accessible with Jaws? The reason I'm asking is that I
received an e-mail from Vipre today with the same $49 offer for the Internet
security that was mentioned on the list over the weekend, but the regular Vipre
antivirus will also be on sale at some point this weekend and I thought I might
go with that if all of Vipre's products are equally Jaws-compatible.

[JAWS-Users] Jaws and vipre antivirus!

2015-07-11 Thread Bob Edenhofer
Good news for those of you folks that use vipre antivirus and vipre internet
security! I’ve been speaking with their technical support guys over at
threattrack security the manufacturing company that makes vipre, and eventualy,
I’m going to be speaking with their product specialist, by the name of Ethan
Kanar! he’s wanting to discuss future versions of vipre with me, and I told
their tech support guys, that we need the 2014 interface back when they come
out with version 2016! so they took down some notes, and when I speak to this
dood, I’ll keep you guys on the list poasted! when Ethan sent me an email, he
told me, that they’ve taken certain features out of 2015 that were in previous
versions of vipre before, for example! you can’t use the jaws cursor! I’ve even
emailed Kevin Lee, and Michael B off list about this matter! on that note, keep
smiling! I haven’t been able to speak with Ethan on the phone as of yet,
because he’s got his hands tied with several cases! but when I do, I’ll get
back to you guys.

great, do keep us VIPRE users informed. the interface in 2015 isn't
accessible in that the JAWS Cursor can be used. Making it possible for
blind users to use the program is good, but accessibility involves more
than that. it's important that blind users can do what sighted users can
do, and full accessibility gives us blind users that competitiveness.

It's Mike Boyd that has the Vipre 2015 knowledge, not Michael B. I got
tired of messing with it went back to 2014. I could navigate 2015 okay,
but since 2014 works just as well as 2015 is much easier to navigate, I
switched back.
Take care.

I recall that I got an automatic upgrade reminder for VIPRE 2015 in mid
June of last year, so yeah, it seems that possibly subscribers receive
the new release before the September/October public announcement.

I hope the 2016 release doesn't break screen reader (JAWS) accessibility.

2016 version now, so they are getting ready it seems. It is possible,
I suppose, that the new version could be released a little early this

Kevin and Wayne,

This is correct. Press enter to select the Navigation Pane when the program
opens, then tab down to select the type of scan that you would like to run.
Press enter on the scan type, and the scan will begin. Following the
completion of the scan, then go to the Manage Pane and press enter on this.
Tab down from here to find the different ways to manage the findings of the
scan. Your quarantine is located here, and you can configure how you would
like threats to be handled here.

Hi Kevin,

It's Mike Boyd that has the Vipre 2015 knowledge, not Michael B. I got
tired of messing with it went back to 2014. I could navigate 2015 okay,
but since 2014 works just as well as 2015 is much easier to navigate, I
switched back.
Take care.

Wayne
to go directly to the scan start menu after opening vipre tab to my
navigation
press alt+s for scan start menu, select type of scan using up and down arrow
enter on desired scan
jaws can not announce the process of the scan so wait awhile and tab around
and if cancel or pause is announced then vipre is still scanning.if you up
arrow on the cancel button I think jaws announces display. I don't know how
I can tell you how to work 2015 with jaws except for alt+s for the scan menu
Michael B has some good instructions but I think it is only to configure
automatic scans

Hi Kevin, when you open the user interface, all you do is, when you want to
scann your machine, tab around a few times, and you’ll see a submenu! then
enter on that, then you can navagate around with your arrow keys, and you’ll
be able to do a quick scan, or a full scan, or a custom scan, I’ll send you
a presentation on navagating the user interface! I’ll be mor than happy to
do that for you! I hope I was helpful to you!

Hi Kevin,

Rick Justice Richard Q. Justice are indeed the same person. In my case I
changed my display name to, Michael B., to help list members to distinguish
that Mike Boyd I are 2 different people.

2015-04-27 Thread Bob Edenhofer
Michael B! I’m sorry for getting edgy over the situation, my goal is to make
friends on this list who are totally blind like myself, so I truly understand
that people have different ways of doing things, so therefore, it’s a
preference. So on that note, I’ll politely ask you verry politely to please
forgive me and let’s be friends.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws and vipre antivirus 2014!

2015-04-27 Thread Michael B.
Hi Kevin,

Here's another little tip I do with another folder I need to access in the
All Users folder. With all folders system folders unhidden / showing:
1. Highlight the, All Users, jfolder but, don't open it, just highlight it.
2. Open the context menu with the application key or the, Shift + F10,
keystroke.
3. Navigate to the, Send To submenu, press enter or right arrow to open. If
you press the letter, N, after opening the context menu it will put you into
the Send To submenu.
4. Arrow down to, Desktop Create Shortcut, press enter. This will put a
shortcut for the All Users folder on your desktop.
5. After you hide all your folders system folders, you can copy the
desktop All Users shortcut paste it into your Users folder in the root of
the C drive. If you don't want the All Users shortcut on the desktop, cut
it instad of copying it paste it in the Users folder, startmenu or, pin it
to the taskbar. The point being, with this shortcut you can now always
access the All Users folder without going through the hassle of unhiding all
the folders system folders.

Note: When you create the shorcut it reads, All Users - shortcut, you can
rename it by highlighting the shortcut, press the, F2 key, rename the
shortcut, press enter to save the changed name. Personally, I always
delete the spaces, the dash, the word shortcut off the end press enter.

HTH
Take care.
Mike
