2017-02-23 Thread Karen Schrade
I am going crazy with the new formats for websites. I'm using IE 11, win 7, and jaws 17 latest. If I go to the family history website Familysearch.org I get "button menu collapsed, button menu collapsed, button menu collapsed" ad infinitim. I've tried enter, alt enter, control enter, left and

[JAWS-Users] new websites

2017-02-24 Thread Karen Schrade
Hi Mike, thanks for the info. I must have something set differently since I still can't get to the choices in the "button menu". At this point, if I use my saved link, I can still get to the "old site" but who knows for how long. I will go and see if FS has any tutorials on dealing with this

[JAWS-Users] files in numerric order

2017-08-01 Thread Karen Schrade
If you want the files to be in the correct numeric order, you have to add a 0 or two 0s if you've got hundreds. You'd need 01, 02, 03, then, after 09 would come 10. If you've got hundreds, you'll need to rename your first file 001, eventually get to 010, then, finally get to 100 etc. thankfully,

[JAWS-Users] installing an old version of jaws

2018-05-15 Thread Karen Schrade
Okay, I'm going crazy with jaws not keeping up with typing in outlook 2007. I've got win 7 and am using jaws 18 with the latest update. I only have jaws 18 on this laptop. Can I install jaws 17? Would I have to uninstall 18 and then install 17? I seem to remember something about not being able

Someone sent the info about that a while ago and it's become a keystroke I use a lot. Put the cursor at the top of the first page and hit control+windows key+k. that marks the spot. Then, go to the end of the last page you want and hit jaws key+spacebar, then the letter m. Jaws will say "selecting

2018-02-23 Thread Karen Schrade
I suspect this may be a lot of personal preference but, if I want to switch from IE11 to another browser... Of Chrome and Firefox, which works better with jaws? Then, which has a smaller learning curve. I'm almost 70 and don't really want to change but, some websites I frequent are making it
