Re: [JAWS-Users] Touch cursors

Yes, you don't need a touch screen to use the touch cursor with JAWS just
enable it with JAWS key and plus or is it shift and plus on the PC keyboard, I
am sure someone will confirm.
It is brilliant for flicking around the screen with the arrow keys when the
screen is not that accessible.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Touch cursors

Hello all-

My computers are old and do not have touch screens. I keep hearing about the
touch cursor. Is ther any use for them for machines that do not have a touch
screen? Is there a link where I can learn more about using them with JAWS and
which versions work with them?

2018-02-10 Thread David Moore
There are archived Webinars on the freedom Scientific Web site, that go over
using the touch cursor in JAWS to use Windows 8.1 and Windows 10, and it just
allows you to press the arrow keys to simulate a flick or swipe in the
direction of the arrow key. You do not need a touch screen for the touch cursor
to work in JAWS. You need JAWS 16, I believe, or maybe 15, to have the touch
cursor built into JAWS.
You can use the touch cursor in apps, just like using a phone. For example, you
can use the touch cursor to flick through the Windows 10 news universal app.

Hey.

Yes, there is. Some of the new Windows app require the use of the touch
cursor to read or even activate things on the screen. It's an annoyance but
something everyone just has to get used to or live with. You should read
about it in your JAWS help files.
