Re: [JAWS-Users] Trying To Get Detail ViewOr List View In Folders

2018-03-07 Thread David Bailes
Hi Ted,
if the shortcuts don't work, another way, is with the focus in the items
view:
1. No items should be selected. If an item is selected, you can deselect it
by pressing ctrl+spacebar.
2. Open the context menu.
3. Open the view sub menu, and choose the view you want.

Concerning making all the other folders have the same view. Since Windows
Vista, you can have more control over applying views to other folders.
Rather than simply applying to all folders, you can apply to all folders
which are optimized for the same kind of files. Folders can be optimized
for documents, music, pictures, videos, and general items. For a folder,
the setting of its optimization for the kind of files it contains is found
on the Customize page of the folder's properties dialog. Note also that the
view settings of some top levels folders, like your personal folder, and
This PC have independent settings.

To apply the view of the current folders to all the other folders which are
optimized for the same kind of files:
1. To open the Folder Options dialog: open the File menu (Alt + F), and
choose Options.
2. Move to the View page.
3. Press the Apply to Folders button. A Folder views dialog opens asking
you whether you want all folders of this type to match this folder's view
settings. Press Enter to press the Yes button.
4. Tab to the OK button and press it.

If you need more information on this topic, then in the following guide, in
customizing file explorer section, there is a sub section on the view
options of the items view:
http://vip.chowo.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/jaws/File-Explorer-10-Guide.html

and this is a link to that section of the guide:

[JAWS-Users] Trying To Get Detail ViewOr List View In Folders

Dear List:

I have windows ten, Jaws 2018 and Microsoft Office 2016 and have started to
use Jaws. First, within folders, how do I change the view to either list
view or detail view, and how do I make all other folders conform to the same
view as the changed folder? I could do it with Windows X P, but the same
procedure is not working the same for me in Windows Ten with these upper and
lower ribbons. I also tried to do this with the hot keys shift-control-5
and shift-control-6, but nothing happened.

Thanks for any ideas on how to accomplish this. Regards: Ted Larson

hello;
if your wanting to set list view or detail view
you can, alt+v=view,
now tab to the desired choice,
or, you can use keystroke,
for details,
alt+v/d=details,
for listview,
alt+v/l=list,
now right or left arrow make your choice, and press enter.

hope this helps.
