Re: [JAWS-Users] keyboard shortcuts on webpages not working
Hi Roger. Yes, this was my conclusion as well. I personally feel this particular implementation of keyboard shortcuts is great, and spoke very enthusiastically about them to the developers. Now I realise I should probably have done so with more caution. They are great, but they may not work for everyone. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Roger Newell Sent: March 2, 2018 4:19 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] keyboard shortcuts on webpages not working Some web accessibility professionals discourage using keyboard shortcuts because browsers, screen readers and operating systems interpret them in different ways. Some web accessibility professionals discourage using keyboard shortcuts because browsers, screen readers and operating systems interpret them in different ways. My personal belief is to keep them there, but to make sure that there are other ways of choosing the options if this is possible. On 3/2/18, JM Caseywrote: > Hi everyone. Do you know how this could influence her situation? I can't really see how. The combination should not invoke or affect forms mode at all. It doesn't on my system. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Steve Sent: March 2, 2018 12:07 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] keyboard shortcuts on webpages not working I wonder if is related to how you and her have forms mode set? - Original Message - From: "JM Casey" <crystallo...@ca.inter.net> To: <jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com> Sent: Thursday, March 01, 2018 5:08 PM Subject: [JAWS-Users] keyboard shortcuts on webpages not working > Hi everyone. Re: [JAWS-Users] keyboard shortcuts on webpages not working
sometimes java script blockers or add blockers will prevent controls or links from working. one place i have this problem is when trying to open a link to a p d f file on a web site. it will do nothing until i turn them off. then the links will activate. -Original Message- From: Adrian Spratt Sent: Thursday, March 01, 2018 3:32 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] keyboard shortcuts on webpages not working The obvious problem that comes to mind is possible conflicts with these same shortcuts used for other purposes, such as by the user's browser. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of JM Casey Sent: Thursday, March 01, 2018 5:08 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] keyboard shortcuts on webpages not working Hi everyone. If so, they're non-standard. They used ctrl-1 through 5. Ok, I obviously need more information. The obvious problem that comes to mind is possible conflicts with these same shortcuts used for other purposes, such as by the user's browser. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of JM Casey Sent: Thursday, March 01, 2018 5:08 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] keyboard shortcuts on webpages not working Hi everyone.
