and it is also timing out. After a point it seems that every unit
test simply failed with a timeout error, and yet the total run time is less
than
the run that completed 160 tests. It should be longer since the timeout per
unit test is 10 minutes.

Hi,
I've been experiencing RH 3.0 alpha consuming all the CPU while being
idle. I have trouble tracking down what is causing this behaviour -- have
some issues with jdb remote debugging. Anyone experiencing the same? (I am
running on W2K, Sun's jdk 1.3.0) What is the best way to track this

Nope, AutoDeployer behavior definately changed. I put an
mbean right after
the autodeployer declaration in jboss-service.xml and that mbean gets
executed at the same time as the autodeployer is deploying

org.mortbay.jetty.servlet.HashSessionManager$SessionScavenger.run is the main culprit?

So you are saying that the Sun VM hangs? I am not understanding this
completly... and well, these logs don't really help to clearify it for me.
I have checked on my Linux + Sun 1.3.1 VM that org.jboss.Shutdown works.
I simply started up a new VM, then shut it down again. The problem could be
There was some talk a long time ago about using a centralized threading
system. Is this still on the burner somewhere? Could we create a

configurable set of pools), then each component that needs to thread, would

This can't be done in general because of the loosely coupled nature
of the architecture. You can plug-in any off the self servlet container,
or in general, any component that has its own thread pool management.
Also, even if there is a centralized thread pool, this does not prevent

Your wasting your time. The latest 2.4 code has not been merged back

I'm on the case.
The session scavenger is there to timeout sessions. It has some poxy code
to try and guestimate a timeout interval to check the sessions. This was
half cleaned up in Jetty4, but I expect it has a busy loop bug from the
sound of it.
Check your session expiry interval in your
Any reason why we are using Vector for Deployment and J2eeDeployer? Could
be used in some other places too?
Are there any synchronization issues here?
