I really do not agree with this being the default behavior. I
generally would expect all tmp files used by JBoss to be placed into
the server's tmp directory instead of littering the global system tmp
directory. If I wanted to change where tmp files are written then I
would set the
This has been our default behavior since the tmp directory was
introduced and we do have users emebedding JBoss. We are not going
to start walking on this property in the production 3.2 release as
there has been no period that this feature has even been available for
user feedback.

The cause of this is logic in MainDeployer.addDeployer to attempt
to deploy any waitingDeployments entries. The invoker.war is deployed
before there is a WAR deployer and as new deployers are added an attempt

Yes, depending on the needs of the developers, we have to support both
Externalizable and Serializable, so I put that in now. But in either
case, since this involves non-typed serialization both types still need
a public, no-args constructor.
The current implementation allows us to verify

I've completed a basic Maven build for JBoss which builds something
approximately the same as the current build, and which appears to run
pretty similarly, though I haven't done any serious tests.
If anyone wants to take a look at the files then they can be downloaded
