The get the following set of stack traces when deploying 2.0-alpha onto a fresh
clean install of 4.0.0 AS (I say issue as it doesn't seem to affect the portal
from working):

It is a known issue with 4.0.0
As you say it does not affect Jboss portal behavior.
I didn't look deep into it, as if you use 4.0.1 it does not happen, you get a
clean startup and the mail service works.
I think we will soon ask to move to Jboss 4.0.1.
